Xenon lamp aging test
Xenon lamp aging test is a part of reliability test. It is a process of simulating the aging of products under various factors involved in actual use conditions and conducting corresponding conditions to strengthen the experiment.
In layman's terms, xenon lamp aging test is to put the product into the aging box for a period of time to see the changes in the product before and after aging.
Purpose of xenon lamp aging test
Use xenon arc lamps that simulate the full sunlight spectrum to reproduce the destructive light waves existing in different environments, including visible light, ultraviolet light and infrared light,
to provide corresponding environmental simulation and accelerated testing for scientific research, product development and quality control.
Application of xenon lamp aging test
Applications of xenon lamp aging test include:
(1) Whether the product quality passes the inspection during the research and development and quality inspection process;
(2) Ranking of weather resistance performance, or establishing correlation with outdoor natural aging;
(3) Predicting the weather resistance performance of products when it is difficult to obtain a large amount of outdoor aging test data;
(4) Screening test of similar products
Xenon lamp aging factors
Generally speaking, the simultaneous action of light, temperature and humidity will affect the accelerated aging of products.
1. Light: Sunlight can be divided into ultraviolet light, visible light, and infrared light because of different wavelengths. Generally speaking, ultraviolet light has a relatively large impact on objects.
Paints and plastic products directly exposed to ultraviolet light will age faster. For those materials that are not very stable, even if they are exposed to visible light or infrared light, they will also age, such as some pigments and dye products. The xenon lamp aging test is a test that can simulate the full solar spectrum, including ultraviolet light (UV), visible light, and infrared light (IR). The spectrum of the xenon lamp is basically consistent with the spectrum of sunlight in the range of 295nm to 800nm, which can accelerate aging.
2. Temperature: Generally speaking, the higher the temperature, the more active the molecules of the material exposed to high temperature, and at the same time, with ultraviolet light irradiation,
it plays a role in accelerating aging. Under the condition of a certain ultraviolet intensity, the higher the temperature, the greater the destructiveness to the material. Therefore, during the test,
the aging of the material is often accelerated by increasing the temperature of the xenon lamp aging test chamber studio.
3. Humidity: A humid environment promotes the aging of the material. In the natural environment, rain, dew and humidity in the air will play a corresponding role in the aging of materials, and dew plays a decisive role.
The xenon lamp aging test chamber can simulate various humidity environments during the test to accelerate the aging of materials.
